Why work with me

Your Crestron programmer, without the payroll

Certified Crestron programmer

Official Crestron certifications up to date and progress along the Masters track. I have been writing SIMPL, SIMPL# (C#) and CH5 for years — not occasionally, between other brands.

White-label for integrators

I am technical backup, not competition. On site I introduce myself as part of your team and documentation can carry your branding. I do not sell installations and I do not go after your client.

Fixed fee and the code is yours

Written fixed fee before we start. On handover you get the .smw, the modules, the panel project and the documentation: nobody is tied to me to touch their own room.

Services

What I do with Crestron

Each block can be hired separately or as a full project. I step in wherever you are short of capacity.

SIMPL and SIMPL#

Control programs for 3-Series and 4-Series: SIMPL Windows logic, SIMPL+ modules (.usp) and SIMPL# libraries in C# when you need the HTTPS, JSON or REST that SIMPL cannot give you.

Touch panels and CH5

Interfaces for TSW and XPanel: classic Smart Graphics or HTML5 projects with CH5 and Construct. Designed so whoever walks into the room knows what to press without being told.

Audio, DSP and videoconferencing

Ceiling microphones, AEC, Dante and AES67 integrated with the room control. Teams and Zoom rooms, BYOD and PTZ cameras with tracking, tuned with Class 1 instrumentation.

DM, NVX and AV over IP

DM and DM-E 4K matrices, NVX distribution over the network and videowalls. Including the network design behind it: VLANs, multicast, IGMP and switches actually configured.

Custom modules and drivers

Custom modules for devices with no official driver, built from the manufacturer protocol or from real captures. Fusion and fleet monitoring when the client needs it.

Project rescue

Rooms left half-finished or inherited programs with no sources. I audit what is there, document the system and give you a fixed price to leave it working and maintainable.

How I work

From your call to the delivered system

1

Tell me about the project

Drawings, BOM, spec or a 15-minute call. The Crestron equipment list and what the room has to do is enough for me to size it up.

2

Fixed price

Written fixed-fee quote, usually within 24–48 h. You close your margin with your client knowing exactly what programming costs you.

3

Remote development

I program and test against a processor on the bench while you keep running the site, showing you progress so there are no surprises on start-up day.

4

Commissioning

On-site checklist testing, user training and handover with sources, diagrams and IP list. Post-handover support included.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you program Crestron white-label for integrators?

Yes, that is my usual way of working. Plenty of integrators have the project and the product but no Crestron programmer on the payroll; I only come in on the technical side, with your branding if you want it, and your client stays yours.

When do you need SIMPL# instead of SIMPL?

SIMPL handles room logic perfectly well and any Crestron programmer can maintain it. SIMPL# (C#) is justified when the system needs something SIMPL cannot reach: HTTPS, JSON parsing, REST APIs, SSH or complex data structures. I use C# where it earns its place and leave the rest in SIMPL, because a program full of unnecessary C# modules is harder to maintain for whoever comes next.

What is the difference between a Smart Graphics panel and a CH5 one?

Smart Graphics (VTPro-E) is the classic flow: solid and quick to maintain for conventional panels. CH5 is HTML5: it allows far freer interfaces, animation and the same UI on panel and browser via XPanel, at the cost of development that is closer to web programming. The choice depends on what will happen to the room three years from now, not on which is more modern.

Do you work with 3-Series or only 4-Series?

Both. There is still a lot of CP3, RMC3 and DMPS3 in production and it deserves decent maintenance. For new projects I work on 4-Series (CP4, RMC4, DMPS4) or VC-4 when the client prefers to virtualise the processor.

Do you hand over the source code of the program?

Always. You get the .smw, the SIMPL+ or SIMPL# modules, the panel project and the site documentation: diagrams, IP list and user manual. The system is left in a state where another programmer can pick it up without cursing you.

Do you work outside Madrid?

Yes. I am based in Madrid and work all over Spain and Portugal. Development is done remotely over VPN, so I only travel for what genuinely requires being there: commissioning, testing and training.
