Why work with me
Q-SYS Architect, Control 101/201 and Control & UCI Advanced, plus ACPR. I write Lua on Q-SYS every day, not as an occasional add-on to another platform.
I reinforce your team without competing with you. On site I am one of yours and documentation can carry your branding. I do not sell installations and I do not go after your client.
Written fixed fee before we start. I hand over the .qsys with commented scripts, the UCIs and the documentation: any Q-SYS programmer can carry the work on.
Services
Each block can be hired separately or as a full project. I step in wherever you are short of capacity.
Room logic in idiomatic Lua: named Controls, event handlers, timers and local state instead of global variables. Code you understand the moment you open it.
User interfaces for TSC, tablets and browser, with custom CSS so the UCI looks like the client brand and not like a factory template.
When a device has no official plugin, I build it: control over TCP, UDP, HTTP or serial, with its properties panel and real state feedback — read from the device, not simulated.
Signal design inside the Core: mixing, AEC for videoconferencing, microphone gating, equalisation and limiters. Tuned in the room with Class 1 instrumentation.
Integration with Dante and AES67, cameras and network peripherals. Including VLAN, QoS and multicast design: in Q-SYS the network is not an accessory, it is part of the system.
Inherited designs nobody maintains, or rooms left half-finished. I audit the .qsys, document what it does and give you a fixed price to finish it.
How I work
1
Drawings, BOM or a 15-minute call. The chosen Core, the peripherals and what the room has to do is enough for me to size it up.
2
Written fixed-fee quote, usually within 24–48 h. No hour counters and no surprises halfway through the job.
3
I design and test against a Core on the bench or in emulation while you keep installing, showing you progress along the way.
4
On-site checklist testing, audio tuning with measurement, user training and handover with the design, the scripts and the documentation.
Usual platforms and brands
FAQ
Yes, that is my usual way of working. Plenty of integrators sell Q-SYS but have nobody who writes Lua or designs UCIs with any judgement. I only come in on the technical side and your client stays yours.
Most rooms are solved with the native components and their routing, and that is easier to maintain. A script earns its place when there is real conditional logic, third-party device control, API integration or behaviour no component covers. Writing Lua for its own sake only makes maintenance harder for whoever comes next.
Yes. I develop the .qplug from the manufacturer protocol (TCP, UDP, HTTP/REST or RS-232), with its properties panel, its controls and state feedback read from the device rather than assumed. If the protocol is not documented, it can be worked out from real captures.
Yes. Q-SYS supports custom styling, and I build UCIs with CSS to match the client identity: colours, typography, iconography and visual hierarchy. A room gets used better when the interface looks like what the user expects, not like a demo.
Yes. I am based in Madrid and work all over Spain and Portugal. Development is done remotely over VPN; trips are reserved for commissioning, audio tuning and training.
Always. You get the .qsys file with commented scripts, the UCIs, any custom plugins I have built and the site documentation: diagrams, IP list and user manual.
Symetrix, Xilica, Biamp and Extron: mixing, AEC, equalisation and tuning with Class 1 instrumentation.
SIMPL, SIMPL#, CH5 and Smart Graphics, including custom module development.
Global Configurator Pro, Global Scripter, TLP Pro panels and ProDSP.
